Release that tension, open up your chest and breathe easier
This easy pec stretch will help you feel more open, balanced, and pain-free.
If you spend a lot of time sitting, working at a desk, or doing activities that involve forward posture (like driving or using your phone), chances are your chest muscles are tight. Tight pectoral muscles can contribute to poor posture, shoulder discomfort, and even limit your range of motion. A simple pec stretch can help open up your chest, improve mobility, and counteract the effects of daily habits that lead to tightness.
- Start by placing your hands on the door frame
- Then step through the door
- You will feel a stretch through the front of the chest
- Relax and move your hands up or down.
- Repeat
- Hold each position for15-20 seconds
You can vary the stretch by placing your hands higher or lower on the door frame. Try placing your hands high up to start, stretch and hold, then bring them lower, stretch and hold.

Try and stretch at least once a day. Anytime, anywhere! If you can work it into your routine, your body will thank you for it. Don’t forget to breathe!
If your chest and shoulders feel tight or restricted, a myotherapy or remedial massage session can also help loosen the pecs and restore better movement. Book an appointment today to experience targeted hands-on treatment and feel the difference!
